Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Family Safely Evacuated from Mansion Following Suspected Arson Attack

Early Sunday, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and his family were safely evacuated from the governor’s mansion after a suspected arsonist set fire to the residence.

The blaze erupted overnight, shortly after Shapiro, a potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, and his family observed the first night of Passover.

In a post on X, Shapiro revealed that he and his family were awakened around 2 a.m. by police pounding on their door due to the fire.

"Thank God no one was injured and the fire was extinguished," Shapiro wrote. "Every day, we stand with the law enforcement and first responders who run towards danger to protect our communities. Last night, they did so for our family – and Lori and I are eternally grateful to them for keeping us safe."

Authorities confirmed no injuries occurred, though the fire caused significant damage to part of the mansion.

State Police are investigating the incident as arson but have not released further details. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
